OK, well, where do I start? I guess from the beginning. I was born in the summer of 1978 in Royal, NE. Royal is a small town in the northeast corner of the state with a population of around 100 people. Yep, you read that right. 100 people! It has a post office, a bar, and of course, the Northeast Nebraska Zoo! Be sure to stop by and say hello if you are in the neighborhood!
I am an only child, and I had a normal and pretty uneventful childhood for the most part. My mother works for First Nebraska Educators Credit Union as an Accounting Manager here in Omaha, and my father works for Mutual of Omaha also in Omaha, NE.
I went to High School in a nearby small town called Orchard. I graduated in 1996 ranked 7th out of 22. Basically for the most part, high school sucked. Being a small town, everyone knows everything about everybody. So, since I wasn't born into and/or related to any of the "popular" families in school, I was a nobody. I guess it didn't help that I didn't really hang out or become friends with them either...
High School wasn't all bad. I did come out of it with a few friends and some good memories. My Senior year, our Football, Boy's Basketball, and our Golf teams all made it to the State Tournament. The cool part was that I was a member of the Varsity Golf Team! Playing in the State Golf Tournament is my best High School memory!
In July of 1996, right out of high school, I moved to Kansas City, MO to attend DeVry Institute of Technology. Here I basically went to school year round studying Telecommunications Management. I always liked computers growing up, but it was while I lived in Kansas City that I really started to learn a lot about them and really start to take a lot of interest in them. While living there, I worked for Deluxe Check Printers, a local school district, and at Sprint Corporation as a Helpdesk analyst. I also had lots of fun and made lots of lifetime friends!
I graduated from DeVry in February 1999, and moved back to Nebraska to be closer to family and friends. I decided on Omaha so I could still have the opportunities that a larger city can offer, and still be close to home. When I moved to Omaha, I moved into my own apartment. My first time living alone!! After working for a small trucking/shipping company called TSL for almost 4 years I moved on to The Gallup Organization as a PC Support Tech and a Help Desk Analyst. I worked at Gallup until March of 2008.
After leaving Gallup, I worked for THT Desgigns, aka TenderHeart Treasures, in LaVista, NE. I worked there until the company was sold in December of 2008. After that I worked for a local computer shop as a consultant until August 2009. Now, I am working as the Technical Coordinator for the Shenandoah Community School District in Shenandoah, IA. I will be moving there soon with my wonderful girlfriend Tricia and our two cats, Emerald and Baby.
